In 2007, the church's Session (or governing body) appointed an initial ad hoc team of folks to oversee a process of assessing our present mission and ministry, as well as discerning our future mission and ministry. The ad hoc team members were a mix of longer term and more recent members. It was all about FAITHFULNESS. Every informational meeting rooted the process in the guidance of the scriptures. The team concluded that if we were not in a perpetual process of discernment we were not being faithful. The biblical models offered were: Gideon (Judges 6-7); Elijah (I Kings 19); Mary (Luke 1); Paul (Acts 9); Peter (Acts 10); and Jesus (his prayer life throughout the Gospels).
