Discernment – The Journey Forward for Glen Avon Presbyterian Church

For the Glen Avon congregation as a whole, discernment is an ongoing process of:

• continually reaffirming a clear and compelling vision of our church’s future;

• cultivating our core values and renewing our mission to reflect these values;

• striving to deepen our faith and ministry; and

• thriving and growing as a congregation in ever-widening circles.

For individuals seeking to follow Christ, discernment is a continual and reflective process of:

• personally trying to find purpose and meaning for our lives;

• using our gifts and talents to serve Christ and to make a difference in the lives of those around us;

• helping to meet the needs of the surrounding community; and

• building on our strengths and experiencing first-hand – both individually and collectively – the love of God.
