The Board of Deacons is the primary arm of the compassion ministry of the congregation. The Deacons are the way in which Glen Avon keeps track of the needs that rise within the congregation and within the Duluth community. The Deacons are the connection of the church to community ministries such as CHUM, the Union Gospel Mission and the Damiano Center. The Deacons keep contact with members who are unable to participate actively in the life of the church. It has a semi-annual blood drive in April and October of each year. During Advent, the Deacons will be sponsoring the sale of items from artisans in the Developing World through the Ten Thousand Villages organization. Press HERE for more details.
