The youngest member of the PC(USA) Special Offerings family, the Pentecost Offering was first received by congregations in 1998. It provides a way to directly meet the needs of children at risk, youth, and young adults. The benefits can be seen all around us. Congregations are trying new ways to minister with the children at risk in their communities. General Assembly programs are advocating for children and providing leadership development opportunities for our youth and young adults. Your gifts to the Pentecost Offering support development of a new generation of leadership in the denomination through the Presbyterian Youth Connection. The Pentecost Offering supports mission with children at risk, youth, and young adults, through the following ministries: · Congregational ministries on behalf of children at risk (40%) · General Assembly ministries with youth and young adults (25%) · Advocacy at the denominational level on behalf of children at risk (10%) · PC(USA) Young Adult Volunteer opportunities (25%) Our Pentecost Offering was received and dedicated on Sunday, May 14th (Pentecost Sunday). The Outreach Committee, which sponsors this offering at Glen Avon, designated our portion to be donated to Duluth’s Life House.
